I saw a quote yesterday that has not left my mind or my heart all day.  when I saw it, I re-read it three times.  it hit home.  that quote has visited my thoughts at least a dozen times today.  "nothing ever goes away until it teaches us what we need to know."  -pema chodron and just re-writing it gave me chills.  my heart is so full tonight.  the fullness comes from fully grasping the truth behind that quote in my personal life.  you see, this year has been wonderful and crammed with fantastic memories.  wonderful things have emerged in every area of my life.  but, it came with a great deal of pain.  pain that never went away until it taught me what I needed to know. and this year, i believe wholeheartedly that i visited the nasty residue of rejection for the very last time.  i believe this because ...

I am long overdue for a glittery, unicorn deposit. disclaimer:   there have been meltdowns, burnt pancakes, rushing out the door in a hurried frenzy, not responding to my children as patient as i would have liked, and...gasp, my children have had moments of total disrespect and unwillingness to cooperate.  oh, and there have been molars break though some fussy, eight-month-old gums. and maybe i ran out of gas.  maybe. so yeah, those things definitely fill up all the in-between unicorn sightings.  please always know that. but, this blog of mine?  it's where i love to sit here and fill my heart with joy, love, peace, happiness, and bubbly, glittery things.  in the midst of all those little daily storms i undoubtedly walk through, i still can always see a rainbow.  and i truly believe this is why my life is mostly happy.  it's where i focus most of my thoughts. so allow ...

I love food.  And yes, i eat annoyingly healthy most of the time.  and i say annoyingly because i will be that girl who brings her clean eats to a ballpark.  i will be that girl who builds a ginormous salad and hauls it to a cookout. do i indulge?  oh my goodness yes.  but mostly i keep the menu clean.  and since i love food, i've perfected the art of making all this clean and good-for-you food taste wonderful and delish.  and trust me, if it didn't taste UH-MAZE-ING, husband would not eat it.  period. PLEASE NOTE:  All these meals can be made non-vegetarian by adding lean meats like chicken or fish. It's just that i am a vegetarian and so are all these meals.  And if you keep the meat organic and hormone free, it will still be considered CLEAN.  So yay for all you fabulous carnivores out there. enough ...
