I just love to throw super fun and thought-out birthday parties, but I have never been to one like this.  it was absolutely, without a doubt, the most amazing theme I have ever heard of.  and the execution of it all was mind blowing.

(A HUGE SHOUT OUT TO SOME DEAR FRIENDS OF THE HUSBAND AND I:  CRIS AND JON…YOU GUYS AND YOUR AWESOME FARM FREAKING TOTALLY ROCK OUR WORLD!!)

you’ve gotta check out their little blog.  (just click here)

and you better bet your sweet butt i’m throwing Nathan a similar theme next year (if I can keep his mind off mine craft).

A MUD RUN BIRTHDAY PARTY
each little obstacle had it’s own personal touch and theme.
i.  was.  floored.
but this was nothing…
 bit by bit:

am I right?

BEST.  BIRTHDAY.  PARTY.  EVER.

this was before the mud.  whatta crew!!

a little peak into the actual run:

and just to bring it more personal, you gotta love how my babybear strutted around on a farm in her diaper.  hangin’ with the goats.

and how lucy made all the boys at her table turn their water into chocolate pudding “mud pie”.  and they all obliged.

how can you blame them?  sister is awesome.

so happy I met this awesome family.

happy party planning!!

We really enjoyed having you all there. I was thrilled that so many of the adults dove right in there too. Made for a (stealing your word)"RAD" B-Day party for my boy.
P.S. No I will not be topping this one next year. All downhill from here.

Whoah. Crazy awesome party, for sure! I so applaud your last post, your vow to raise your children like you dream possible. I love to see beauty from hardship, and I see that in you. Shine on! {And thanks, too, for that precious comment on my last post. Means so much!) xo
