I need to throw a little praise out to my son.  he's really doing fabulous in kindergarten.  he actually was bummed this morning when he found out it was only sunday.  he so badly wanted to go back to school.  he loves his teacher and wants nothing more than to please her.  I really wanted my boy in a different school and tried to put him on the waiting list for an in-district transfer...to no avail. but what I really prayed for was that the Lord gave my boy the perfect teacher for him.  no matter his school.  even though he didn't get into the school I pushed for, I think it worked out just how it was supposed to.  and you would think that hearing him say that he wanted to be in school instead of home with me would have stung, but it didn't.  I think the hardest part about letting go and sending him off to school was the unexpected.  all the "what if's".  what if ...

right now, i am really content.  and that feels so good.  I say that to warn you off from reading another word if you are not in the mood for unicorn and glitter sightings.  ha. ha. no but seriously, a happy life can not be earned, won, or bought.  it comes from living a life full of love, thanks, and grace.  and tonight, i'm full of all three.  i'm actually crammed full with it. I am just so thankful in my very beating heart tonight for where life is leading me and my wonderful family. sometimes, I pinch myself. "how did this happen?", I ask myself.  "how did I get so blessed?"  then I remember that you really can change your world if you change your words.  SPEAK LIFE.  SPEAK GOODNESS.  it freaking works, y'all.  it just friggin does.  just trust me.  i'm begging you. here are my latest unicorn, bliss, and glitter sightings...in no particular ...

I just love to throw super fun and thought-out birthday parties, but I have never been to one like this.  it was absolutely, without a doubt, the most amazing theme I have ever heard of.  and the execution of it all was mind blowing. (A HUGE SHOUT OUT TO SOME DEAR FRIENDS OF THE HUSBAND AND I:  CRIS AND JON...YOU GUYS AND YOUR AWESOME FARM FREAKING TOTALLY ROCK OUR WORLD!!) you've gotta check out their little blog.  (just click here) and you better bet your sweet butt i'm throwing Nathan a similar theme next year (if I can keep his mind off mine craft). A MUD RUN BIRTHDAY PARTY each little obstacle had it's own personal touch and theme.  i.  was.  floored.  but this was nothing...  bit by bit: am I right?  BEST.  BIRTHDAY.  PARTY.  EVER. this was before the mud.  whatta crew!!   a little peak into the actual run: and just to bring it more personal, you gotta love how ...

an honest start is where i'd like to begin. since my father passed away, I've really fought a deep-rooted battle of rejection.  may God rest his soul, but he rejected me.  and it affects me.  it has been the hardest pain in my life.  but i'm starting to see the exact reason why the good Lord has allowed me to walk through these issues that seem to haunt me.   I recently got my hands on a very powerful book by joyce meyer, called, "the root of rejection.".  it basically lays out the foundation of why my heart breaks into a million (and then some!) pieces when people judge me, reject me, and misunderstand me.  I've dissected and devoured this book. now most people hate being disliked, misunderstood, and rejected.  but most people can easily let it go.  but there is a deeeeeeep root of rejection that has set up camp from my childhood.  I ...

Here I sit, writing.  And brushing my teeth, drinking hot tea, texting my friends, talking to the husband, and reading the kids a bedtime story.... ...it's what i'd like to call time management. okay okay, i'm just writing.  well, and sipping hot tea.  but that's all.  i promise. I've always wanted to write a blog post where I fully document a full day in our world.  so I picked today.  Tuesday.  i'm noticing that you really DO create your own path.  and come hail or high water, you do NOT have to accept things as they are.  you can change them.  remake them.  and conquer the crapballs out of them.  a few months back, i unplugged for a whole month from social media.  my heart was heavy and I really needed to get some things in order (as I mentioned in this post).  I began to lay out my game plan for my best life.  even though my life ...

as praise music whispers and steam rises from my hot tea, I finally get a chance to unravel a very, overflowing-with-goodness weekend.  I needed a weekend with my family and girlfriends more than I ever realized.  I just love old friends.  you know, the ones that knew you when you use to skinny dip, pee like a boy, make prank calls, the inside jokes, the deepest-darkest secrets that only they know about you.  how proud they are of you.  how proud you are of them.  because we know each others journey.  it's really a beautiful thing, friendship.  I cherish my friendships.  and this weekend, I felt cherished.  It felt so good to be surrounded by so much love.  the way they love me, the way they love my husband, and most importantly, the way they showed loved to my babies.  I couldn't hardly believe their efforts at seeing to it that our family had an incredible mini-vacation.  i'm still kind ...
