operation clean-up has commenced. where on earth does it all fit?  instead of figuring that out at the moment, i came up with a much better idea.  i'm going to sit back with my CHRISTmas music whispering softly during nap time while i remember just how fabulous this marshall family rocked out CHRISTmas 2011. as the very special day was inching up on us, we were sure to take in every last dripping of festivities that we possibly could. on CHRISTmas eve-eve-eve, we had our share of fun at a little winter wonderland.  complete with train rides, a live petting zoo, and snow sledding...yes, in south florida.  BIZ-AM!! i was able to share a little of our faith with the kids when we passed a live manger scene.  except you couldn't fool nathan when he was told that the little baby doll was jesus...he was all "no it's not...it's a baby doll."  and ...

i woke up on this morning with excitement under my slippers, and happiness in my home.  i mean, it was only 4 more sleeps until CHRISTmas.  this week is, perhaps, my favorite week of the entire year.  little did i know that my day was going to get majorly and very unfortunately shook up.  like....reeeeeeeeally shook up.  i was under the understanding that i was going to get the kids all packed up and head to the gym for a fun little CHRISTmas spin class--infused with songs of the season.  holy goodness!!!  i couldn't hardly wait to spin my little heart out to such holiday cheer.  after that, i was going to hit up chic-fil-a with my little people so they could play while my home was getting professionally cleaned.  we were off to a blast-of-a-wednesday. HAULT!!! i did the CHRISTmas spin class...and i made it to chic-fil-a.  i had just slid off my sweet babies shoes ...

party?  what's that? YEAH...FRIGGIN'....RIGHT!!  we know all to well what a party is.  let's just break it down real quick to give a little mental picture.  thursday night i had a girls night out (more like girls night in).  we did it up slumber party style.  a few girlfriends and i try to do this yearly.  we eat, chat, and laugh well into the middle of the night.  always fun.  always needed. and always extra tired the day after.  but oh so worth it. friday was my son's performance at school, if you missed my friday post, you must read about his nose picking solo.  that night was closed up with a CHRISTmas party about an hour away.  it was such a great night and the food was splendid--i picked up a killer coleslaw recipe that is mayonnaise free and can't wait to muster that little dish up in my very own kitchen.  ...

hooray...i'm 4 months today!!!  that just couldn't go without mention.  here goes my actual blog post for the day: knock-knock who's there? bing bong bing bong who? big bong moo poop!! that's right.  my son is in this phase.  the knock-knock joking, robot talking, "poo-poo" saying, kind of phase.  me, personally?  i think that "bing bong moo poop" is quite original and super clever.  the best part is when the husband tries to encourage nathan to use the punch line properly. yeah, nathan isn't one bit interested in being all punch line-y...he's more geared towards originality.  and by originality, i mean "bing bong moo poop", and things of that nature.  we spent a whole entire morning with all this silliness and sister wasn't trying to take a back seat.  she kept saying "not-not" (knock-knock), only to hear us say "who's there?".  this was as far as she would take it before she fell into a hysterical oblivion.  then it was as if someone ...

for the month of november, i took on a wonderful challenge with my little people.  i've been waiting to link it to the specific blog that started this challenge but i haven't seen her post it.  we did finish out the month of november strong and it was by far, my favorite week. this was the easiest week of teaching random acts of kindness to my children.  easy in terms of no prep work involved.  also easy in terms of utilizing one of my biggest gifts...giving out compliments.  if you happen to see me out and about, i am sure to fire away with a random compliment.  i either love your hair, your earrings, your shirt, your children are the cutest, blah blah blah.  it's just me.  i love to make other people feel good because i know how great it feels when someone notices that i have a great pair ...

i love florida winters.  you are welcomed with a slightly chilly morning, a comfortably-wonderful sunshiny afternoon, and it always ends the way it begins.  slightly chilly.  i love that we get to play outdoors for what seems like forever.  no sweating.  no shivering. it's pretty freaking fabulous. i love how we have a lime tree in our front yard that is perfect for my favorite 4-year-old to climb.  it's not to high but it has plenty-o branches for his teensie feet to move on up.  he has never asked to climb it until this week.  it was one of those days when i had just went food shopping and needed to head straight in to put things away.  he enthusiastically asks "can i plllllleeeeeease climb that tree, mommy?", since i'm a huge fan of "sure, why not's", i put away all the cold items and left the dry foods on the counter-top. in no ...

i am certain that we couldn't have piled another ounce of fun into our weekend.  i love busy.  i love creating.  and...i love love love me some weekends.  especially weekends in december.  december's calendar is jam-packed.  momma likey. a weekend that starts with hearing the gallop of a strong, and healthy baby's heartbeat was a fabulous way to kick off a great december weekend.  that sound jerks my whole body.  it sends me to such a beautiful place.  when the nurse is done with the little doppler that grabs such an amazing sound, i always ask her to "put it back on for just another minute...please."  the nurse always smiles and grants me of my little wish.  always. heck, it never hurts to ask. speaking of asking...one of the girls from our youth group was expressing how excited she was about her sweet 16 birthday coming up.  she mentioned that she wanted a slumber party ...
